Role Overview:
The school is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. Successful candidates will have proven experience working in a Reception classroom and be well-versed in phonics training. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the early stages of children’s education and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective phonics lessons.
Support the social and educational development of children in the Reception Class.
Help prepare and maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
Assist with the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for children as needed.
Observe and record children’s progress, sharing insights with the class teacher and parents.
Encourage positive behavior and support the emotional well-being of all pupils.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience working in a Reception classroom.
Phonics training and a strong understanding of phonics teaching methods.
A relevant Early Years qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent) is desirable, not compulsory.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
