Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher Wanted – those who have mainstream experience are also encouraged to apply as training will be given! 

Outer London MPS plus SEN point – April 2024 start

About Us:

A Primary SEND school in the heart of Croydon for students aged 5 – 11 with a primary diagnosis of MLD (moderate learning difficulties). The children come from a wide range of backgrounds, but many will also have other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities such as ADHD, SLD and communication difficulties. This school is deeply committed to providing exceptional education to students with SEND. The school is founded on the principles of inclusion, diversity, and student-centred learning. As a SEND Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere to ensure all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborating closely with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff to provide a holistic and comprehensive learning experience.
  • Regularly assessing student progress and adapting teaching strategies to facilitate maximum growth.
  • Cultivating open and effective communication with students, parents, and caregivers to build strong partnerships.
  • Staying up to date with best practices in special education and incorporating them into your teaching.
  • Actively participating in professional development opportunities and contributing to our school’s continuous improvement efforts.
  • You will lead a class team and teach a class of 6 – 10 pupils.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A valid teaching certification (QTS) or (QTLS)
  • Prior experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting although not necessary – training will be provided.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and a passion for ongoing professional growth.
