Job Description
Complete Classroom Services are working with an inclusive SEN school in Croydon who are looking for a creative SEN Teacher to lead learners from September 2024. Due to the school’s supportive structure, ECTs are invited to apply too.
Role Overview:
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASD), and associated communication (SLCN) needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support and interventions to pupils with Autism (ASD), and associated communication (SLCN) needs.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of learners within the alternative resource provision.
- Collaborate closely with mainstream class teachers, Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs), and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support and progress.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies to promote positive outcomes for pupils.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported to thrive.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress regularly, adapting teaching strategies as needed to meet individual learning needs.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance SEN provision within the school.
The successful Special Needs Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or applicants looking to do their Early Career Teaching (ECT) are welcomed to apply.
- Experience working with SEN pupils especially, Autism (ASD) and communication (SLCN) needs.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Enthusiasm, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of pupils with special educational needs.
- Access to Good References and an Enhanced DBS
