Complete Classroom Services are working with an warm and welcoming SEN school in Ealing who are looking for a SEN Teacher to join the team from September 2024.
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a sensory curriculum and leading teams to support pupil learning, therapy, and care needs. Your responsibilities will include teaching all aspects of the sensory curriculum, coordinating teaching assistants effectively, and using a range of communication methods to support engagement and development. Experience teaching pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and autism (ASD) is desirable, as is a positive attitude towards school development and the ability to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:
- Teach all aspects of the sensory curriculum to pupils with special educational needs.
- Coordinate team of teaching assistants.
- Use a range of communication methods, including Intensive Interaction, PECs, Makaton, TEACCH, and sensory strategies, to support pupil engagement and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute own ideas and solutions to school development initiatives.
The successful SEN Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching pupils with special educational needs.
- Experience teaching pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and autism is desirable.
- Ability to use a range of communication methods to support pupil engagement and development.
- Positive attitude towards school development and the ability to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Access to Good References and an Enhanced DBS
