Learning Mentor
Located in Havering
Starting in September 2024
£100-£110 per day.
Monday – Friday
Term Time Only
Long term to Permanent position
Complete Classroom Services are working with a variety of Primary Schools in the borough of Havering and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
• Offer one-on-one and group support to students, assisting them in developing effective learning practices and building confidence.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify students who require further support and develop tailored action plans.
• Build strong relationships with pupils by serving as a trustworthy role model and advisor.
• Monitor and track children’ development, and provide regular feedback to instructors and parents.
• Create and lead engaging activities to develop social skills, emotional well-being, and resilience.
• Assist students with behavioral issues by helping them develop good coping strategies.
• Work with external agencies and specialists to ensure students receive full support.
Requirements:
• Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish rapport with students, staff, and parents.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine want to help young people thrive.
• The ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to handle many priorities.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or mentorship are preferred but not required.
Required to complete vetting to work in a school setting, including a thorough DBS check.

You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.
