Teacher (Deaf Provision) in Kensington

Working Hours: Mon – Fri (8:30am – 4:00pm)

Complete Classroom Services are working with an established school in the heart of London. We’re on the hunt for a seasoned Teacher with unparalleled expertise in Deaf Education to join their team on a permanent basis. Position Overview: As a Teacher specializing in Deaf education, you’ll be at the forefront of transforming the educational landscape for students with hearing impairments. You are encouraged to bring a fresh perspective, creativity, and a wealth of experience to our established institution, ensuring every Deaf learner thrives in an inclusive and dynamic academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of Deaf students.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and resources to support Deaf learners in achieving academic success.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists and educational support staff, to develop and implement Individualised Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes effective communication and social skills.
  • Stay abreast of best practices in Deaf Education, incorporating the latest research and advancements into teaching methodologies

Qualifications:

  • A valid teaching credential and substantial teaching experience, with a focus on Deaf Education.
  • Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant sign language systems.
  • Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and communication needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with research in Deaf Education.
