Job Description

Learning Mentor

Located in Newham
Starting in September 2024
£100-£110 per day.

Monday –Friday
Term Time Only
Long term to Permanent position
Complete Classroom Services are working with a variety of Primary Schools in the borough of Newham and surrounding areas. We have Learning Mentor roles to start in September.

Responsibilities:

·  Provide one-on-one and group support to students, helping them to develop effective learning strategies and build confidence.

·  Work collaboratively with teachers to identify students needing additional support and create personalized action plans.

·  Foster positive relationships with students, acting as a trusted role model and advisor.

·  Monitor and track students’ progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

·  Develop and lead engaging activities that promote social skills, emotional well-being, and resilience.

·  Support students with behavioural challenges, helping them to develop positive coping mechanisms.

· Liaise with external agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Requirements:

·  Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring capacity.

·  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.

·  Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

·  Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.

·  Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

·  Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or mentoring (desirable but not essential).
Required to complete vetting to work within a school setting essential including full DBS check.

Complete Classroom Services are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children. All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.
