If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at a reputable secondary school located in Southwark.

Complete Classroom Services are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide invaluable support to students with diverse learning needs. Your role will be instrumental in helping these students achieve their full potential academically and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to plan and implement individualised support plans.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with a wide range of learning needs.
  • Assist students with their classwork, homework, and projects, adapting materials and approaches as required.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment to encourage student engagement and self-confidence.
  • Observe and monitor student progress, recording and reporting on their development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure that the educational needs of each student are being met effectively.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive conduct among students.
  • Support students in developing essential life skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence.

Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for helping students with diverse learning needs.
  • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young learners.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of various learning difficulties and strategies to address them.
  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or working with young people is an advantage.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special education is preferred.
