Complete Classroom Services are working with a wonderfully diverse SEN Primary School in Southwark, who are looking for an SEN Teacher to join the team from January 2025.
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teacher, you will be leading learners with complex learning, medical, and physical needs. This role will be for a new class being added to our school, designed to cater to the growing needs of their community. You will have the support of a knowledgeable and experienced team of TAs who are already familiar with the pupils and their specific needs, ensuring a smooth transition and a supportive environment for both you and the children. Here you’ll utilise a “learn through play” approach to make learning engaging and enjoyable.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the new class, providing tailored support and guidance to pupils with complex learning, medical, and physical needs
- Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) to address specific learning and behavioural challenges, fostering academic and emotional growth.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and needs
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers
- Collaborate closely with support staff to provide holistic support to pupils, addressing their diverse needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Monitor and track pupil progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as necessary to support their development and well-being.
The successful Special Needs Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or applicants looking to do their Early Career Teaching (ECT) are welcomed to apply.
- Ability to implement a learn through play approach
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning to enhance teaching practice and SEN provision.
- Those with a background in healthcare are encouraged to apply
- Access to Good References and an Enhanced DBS
