Job Description

About the role

An all-through SEN School in Tower Hamlets supporting pupils with a primary diagnosis of autism (ASD).

Many pupils here will have other associated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including associated communication needs (SLCN).

All staff are provided with focussed and on-going training.

Their collective approach keeps pupils and the heart of decision making, ensuring education and wider teams, parents/carers and most importantly the students can work together effectively to ensure positive outcomes for all.

 

 

The Role

This school requires an energetic and creative Teacher to support children with autism (ASD) and associated communication needs (SLCN).  Due to the schools’ structure, ECTs are also welcomed to apply!

 

SEN Teachers will:

  • Have Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
  • Deliver stimulating lessons incorporating sensory approaches to encourage interactivity
  • Effectively coordinate team of TAs
  • Be paid £150-240 p/day, depending on experience
  • Commit to working full-time. Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4pm
  • Have access to good references and an Enhanced DBS

You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children. All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.
