Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary Schools in the Borough of Tower Hamlets
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive Daily Rate

Role Overview: We are seeking a caring and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support students with special educational needs across various primary schools in the Borough of Tower Hamlets. Your commitment and expertise will help ensure that all students have the opportunity to achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with classroom teachers to support students with special educational needs.
Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials to meet the needs of students.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their learning and development.
Assist with the personal care needs of students where necessary.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Support students during transitions, such as moving between classrooms or activities.
Engage with students in extracurricular activities to enhance their social and emotional development.

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) in an educational setting.
A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and resilience.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN qualifications) are highly desirable.
Knowledge of various SEN conditions and appropriate teaching strategies.

Complete Classroom Services are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children. All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.
