Job Description

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Waltham Forest
Employment Type: Part-Time (Every Friday)
Contract Type: Long-Term Role

 

Role Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join on a part-time basis, working every Friday. This long-term position requires a dynamic individual who can deliver high-quality lessons, plan and follow lesson plans, and actively engage students in classroom discussions and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality lessons in accordance with the curriculum and school guidelines.
Plan, prepare, and follow lesson plans to ensure effective teaching and learning.
Engage children with interactive classroom discussions and activities.
Support individual students and small groups to enhance their learning experience.
Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement.
Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a primary school.
HLTA qualification or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
A positive and proactive approach to supporting student learning and development.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.
